It Begins With a Phone Call

I do things a little differently here at Erika Pearce Photography. It begins at the very beginning with a phone call.

Why a phone call?

It’s pretty simple, really. Who you have in your birth space is important. You should feel at peace and comfortable with whomever you invite into your birth story. Your doctor, midwife, doula, family and even your photographer are very important to how your birth story comes to pass. Our hearts and energy are present and working with you while you welcome your little one(s).

Why not just email?

Well, that’s a great question. I suppose I could, but I want to give you my all. I want to leave a lasting impression on your heart and mind that you have hired someone that is capable and caring. Sometimes that does come across in emails, but often times it does not. My hope is that this personal touch let’s you know how deeply I care about you, your baby(ies), your partner, your family, and the birth you wish to have.

What do we talk about?
Everything, really. I love to shower my excitement for your growing family. It’s also the perfect time to tell you about the process, the how and when I serve you in your birth story, and the price of everything from start to finish. Mostly, I love to hear about you. I love to hear how many children you have, where you are birthing, hearing the subtle words and nuances that form the picture of your birth in my heart, when you are due, and even your baby’s name, where you live in south Louisiana, etc. I love to hear about it all. And I fall head-over-heels with everything and all of you.

What if I don’t like talking on the phone?
This is a question I am asked often. Guess what? Most people don’t. It can be a little anxiety inducing even for me. I usually pace outside in the sunshine so I don’t ramble too much out of nervousness.

…but it’s worth it.

I want to give you my all. I want you to have the sweetest and most beautiful experience that I can from the first email to the final hug. I want you to know that you are valued, cared for, and given the best of the best there is to offer. That phone call might seem insignificant or like a bother, but I can promise you it is so worth it and is where our relationship begins.
