Kristen's Birth Session

Kristen was referred to my by a precious client and friend of mine. The clients that find me with a close friend referring them always start in such a sweet way. It’s like we were already connected. There is a rhythm to it already in place, and it’s like we both just seamlessly jump in. That is how Kristen way.

This baby was a surprise in regards to sex. Kristen prepared for a boy or girl in advance. Her son was ready the entire labor to gift a bunny to his new sibling. The bunny became a theme throughout her birth story that I especially loved.

St Tammany Parish Hospital is so great about utilizing peanut balls. This birth was no exception. There was a time that no one on the Northshore, or even within a 50 miles from Covington, LA, would have even known what a peanut ball was. When I worked as co-director of Northshore Birth Options, we actually gifted the hospital their first two peanut balls. Now, almost 5 years later, the hospital has seen how effective they are with patients, especially those that have had an epidural, to reduce cesarean rates. They now have many peanut balls of different sizes for different heights of women.

Kristen labored beautifully. Her birth was very fast. And POOF! Little Ryan Marie was born in all her glory. She was such a dainty little peanut. Absolutely precious in every way.
